Mission

 

The Northern Arizona Orchestral Instrument Concerto Competition, henceforth called “The Competition” in our rules, offers residents of Northern Arizona, who play an orchestral instrument, an opportunity to engage, learn, teach, perform, and compete in a professional setting.

 

 

Eligibility

 

The Competition is open to any string, wind, and brass high school players (grade 9-12), residing in Northern Arizona.

 

For The Competition, we define Northern Arizona by the following counties: Apache, Coconino, Gila—Payson only, Mohave, Navajo, and Yavapai.

 

Winners of the direct previous installment may not apply for the following year (for example, the winner of 2025 may not apply for 2026, but can apply again for 2027).

 

 

Dates/Deadlines

​

Competition Announcement: March 17th

Pre-screening and Application Due: May 19th

Finalist Announcement: July 14th

Final Round/Live Performance Audition in Flagstaff, AZ: September 27th(time and venue, TBD)

 

 

Fees

 

A fee of $25, is needed to process pre-screening applications and maintain administrative upkeep of The Competition.

 

The fee may be paid in two ways:

 

1. Via PayPal linked at the bottom of our website at orchestrana.org and clicking the yellow donate button.

If submitting payment through PayPal, please submit $25 and include your first and last name and Northern Arizona Concerto Competition into the special instructions portion.

 

2. Sending a check to our address:

A certain number of application fee waivers are available upon request for those with financial hardship.
